Kimball Clay Open Studio happens every Friday from 1:00 p.m to 5:00 p.m. and is $10.00 per person. It is open to anyone who wants to get their hands dirty and work with clay.
Stepping into a studio space for the first time can be daunting, but it doesn’t have to be. Kristen McDermaid, our Kimball Clay Studio Manager, is there to greet all Open Studio participants and guide them through a couple of demonstrations. It’s not a class, but an opportunity to try something out in a free-form and relaxed environment. Participants are given enough clay to experiment and play with in order to figure out the process. You can choose two pieces from each session to keep. The art is fired and glazed by Kristen then sent to the gas kiln for a final firing. In about 12 days, the completed pieces are ready for pickup.
Come by next Friday and try your hand at wheel throwing!
