Mindful Painting

by

Kids will explore the fundamentals of painting while practicing mindfulness in this unique camp. Each day combines guided meditation with hands-on painting exercises, helping children focus, relax, and connect with their creativity. Campers will learn techniques like color mixing, brushwork, and composition while cultivating calm and self-expression through art.

This camp is suited for ages 6-12 only. No camp Aug 10th.

Handbuilt Creations: Cups, Bowls, & Plates

Kids will get hands-on with clay to create their own cups, bowls, and plates! This camp teaches basic handbuilding techniques while encouraging creativity, problem-solving, and fine motor skills. Campers will design, shape, and decorate functional pieces they can be proud of, learning the joy of making art they can use every day.

Note on firing: All work will be fired and ready for pick up in the Kimball Art Center 7 days after your class. We do not ship class work. If artwork is not picked up after 60 days it will be recycled. *Since artwork may look different after firing, make your pottery or sculpture recognizable by carving a signature into your piece. On the last day of camp, please join us for an art show to photograph work before it gets fired!

Landscapes Reimagined through Art Movements

Kids will explore famous art movements while reimagining landscapes in their own style! Each day introduces a new approach from Impressionism to Surrealism while campers experiment with colors, shapes, and techniques. This hands-on camp encourages creativity, critical thinking, and artistic discovery, giving kids the chance to see the world through the lens of different artists.

Piece by Piece: Mosaics

Kids will dive into the colorful world of mosaic art, creating unique designs piece by piece. They’ll learn about patterns, shapes, and color while experimenting with tiles, paper, and other materials to make bright, textured artwork. This hands-on camp encourages patience, creativity, and pride in seeing a finished mosaic come together!

Introduction to Cartooning!

In this fun camp, kids will explore the basics of cartooning while creating their own characters and stories. Campers will experiment with line, shape, and color as they learn simple drawing techniques and develop their own artistic style. Through guided exercises and imaginative projects, children will build confidence, creativity, and a love for visual storytelling.
