Weekend Workshop Series: Stop Motion Animation

Calling all young artists! In this exciting Mini Makers Series workshop, kids will explore the magic of moviemaking and discover how animation brings still images to life. Inspired by our current exhibition, Moving Pictures, students will tour the show and learn the basics of stop-motion animation. Using cameras and toys, they’ll create their very own animated scenes and take home a custom flipbook to keep the creativity going!

This hands-on class is perfect for budding filmmakers and curious minds eager to explore the art of movement. Spaces are limited- don’t miss out on this fun and imaginative experience!

This class is for kids 5-12 years old. We encourage parents to stay and get a tour of the exhibition by our visitor services team while their kiddos enjoy the class!

Winter Break Drop-Ins

Explore your creativity during the winter break and drop-in to our studios between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m for a winter themed art project. Unlike a typical class, this open studio lab is self-directed, with KAC staff standing by for assistance. Plan on one hour to complete the project, themes vary each day and are appropriate for kids and adults! Kids under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Cost is $5 in advance and $10 at the door.

Noon Years Eve

Noon Year’s Eve is a fun and creative way for the littles to ring in the New Year at a kid-appropriate time! 

Kids under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Price is $35 per child, adults are free. Light refreshments will be provided.
