Join us for an Open House celebrating the opening of our Summer 2021 exhibition, The Stories Woven Within.
The opening takes place from 6:00–9:00 p.m. and includes a cash appetizer and light bites. Executive Director Aldy Milliken and Curator Nancy Stoaks will be onsite offering tours of the exhibition. The opening is complimentary to attend thanks generous donors committed to Kimball Art Center’s mission.
The Stories Woven Within features the study of three artists, Marie Watt, Adrian Esparza, and Elodie Blanchard, and their ideas implementing various strategies using textile materials. Much like our skin or the land we live on, textiles become imprinted over time, absorbing actions and holding memories. The occasion where a cherished piece of clothing was worn, or the day when a blanket provided comfort become a part of its history. Stories are endlessly woven into their interlaced fibers.
Exhibition brought to you by the Utah Division of Arts & Museums and Summit County RAP Tax.
