Marketing and Engagement Specialist
Reports to the Director of Communications
This is a full-time in person position
OVERVIEW:
Kimball Art Center (KAC) seeks a proactive, highly organized, and community-minded Marketing and Engagement Specialist to help amplify our presence across Park City and beyond. This role blends marketing coordination with event planning and community engagement. You’ll support the Communications Director in executing strategic campaigns and be the point person for planning and running mission-aligned events. Ideal candidates are creative thinkers who are energized by a fast-paced arts environment and confident in taking initiative to make things happen.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Event Planning & Community Engagement (50%)
- Plan and execute exhibition openings, museum programming, and public programs in collaboration with Education, Curatorial, and Development teams. Assist the development team in executing major fundraising events.
- Manage event logistics: timelines, permitting, vendor coordination, supply orders, staffing, set-up/clean-up, AV/lighting, and payment tracking.
- Take initiative in brainstorming event experiences and audience activations aligned with exhibition or program themes.
- Lead day-of event operations with attention to detail and composure under pressure.
- Coordinate event recaps and metrics for internal evaluation.
- Represent KAC at public events and community outreach opportunities. Share the organization’s mission clearly and enthusiastically with audiences and partners.
Marketing Support (50%)
- Collaborate with the Director of Communications to execute integrated campaigns across digital, print, and event channels.
- Under the direction of the Director of Communications, maintain and update website content, assist with email marketing, and coordinate organic social media content and community posts.
- Review outgoing promotional materials to ensure they meet KAC brand standards.
- Assist with asset development: signage, brochures, ads (collaborating with graphic designers and photographers as needed).
- Track and organize promotional calendars, deadlines, and project timelines.
- Contribute copy and creative ideas to ensure marketing reflects KAC’s mission, brand, and diverse audiences.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in event coordination, marketing, communications, or arts administration
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Marketing, Communications, Arts Admin, or related fields).
- Familiarity with arts organizations or museums a plus.
- Friendly and confident communicator, both in writing and in person.
- Comfort with social media platforms and website CMS (e.g. WordPress).
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for event coverage (especially July–August during the Park City Kimball Arts Festival).
- Graphic design, photography, videography, email platforms (e.g., Constant Contact/Mailchimp), or CRM/database experience is a plus.
- Self-starter with a natural sense of ownership and the ability to manage multiple priorities without heavy oversight.
- Calm and organized under pressure—especially during high-profile events or deadlines.
BONUS SKILLS (VALUED BUT NOT REQUIRED)
- Experience in the nonprofit or cultural sector.
- Knowledge of the local Park City arts scene and/or KAC’s programming.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale software or event registration tools.
- Comfortable using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms.
Will require some evening, weekend, and occasional holiday work for event oversight
