Kimball Clay Studio will be closed on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, 2019.
As a community studio, we offer the opportunity to play, learn and create in a friendly atmosphere. Kimball Clay Studio is staffed by experienced, professional teachers, each with their own style, who offer hands-on assistance and inspiration while in the studio. We offer a variety of experiences for visiting and aspiring clay artists of all ages:
Our Clay Studio membership is perfect for the self-directed maker, who is looking for a community setting to grow their ceramic artwork. Our clay studio membership is made up of independent makers that pay a three-month or yearly fee to access our community studio space and equipment. We allow 40 active studio members at one time to ensure the best experience for our members. We are unable to accommodate production potters. To become a Clay Studio Member, please visit our Membership page here or call 435.469.8882 for space availability.
Kimball Art Center offers a variety of classes for all ages and abilities in both hand building and wheel throwing techniques as well as more specific techniques. Join us for a lesson or a studio session and experience the artistic process of clay.
Visiting artists provide insight for our community of contemporary practices in ceramics, while providing experience and exposure to local and regional artists in our community.
Each quarter we invite local and regional artists to teach a hands on workshop at the Kimball Clay Studio. Students have the opportunity to learn specific techniques from practicing artists. Past visiting artists include:Giselle Hicks, Lauren Gallaspy, & Dennise Gackstetter.
Each year the Kimball Clay studio hosts a demonstrating artist. Paired with a lecture, artists will demonstrate techniques for the community for 1-3 days. Attendance is included in Clay Studio Membership.
Upcoming Demonstrating Artist: Magda Gluszek: July 18 & 19, 2019
