Using plasticine (oil-based) clay & our phones/cameras, we will make simple, but amazing animations.
After school, kids can explore art using a variety of fun materials each week. Drop-ins welcome.
This week: Artful Animation – From hand drawn to claymation, bring your stories to life.
November 30 – Holiday Cards: Make one and send it!
Let’s get loopy! This class is designed to teach loop animation, commonly known as GIFs. Kids will learn about the animating process and create characters. Teachers will also help them with editing, rendering and creating an animation file to take home.
Students will learn to do basic, hand-drawn 2D animation in this class. Together, we will draw a basic bouncing ball cycle that will be ready for animation. After that concept is taught, students will begin drawing a basic walk cycle using tracing paper. Kylie will help students digitize their animations, and will have the sequence saved on a flash drive. On the last day, students will create mini flip books, and will present their books in class!
