While visiting, explore our current exhibition, Between Life and Land: Material part one of a three-part exhibition series focused on telling the stories of our relationship with land through the lens of 30 artists.
In true Sundance fashion, Between Life and Land: Material includes three seminal films from the 1970s by renowned land artists Robert Smithson and Nancy Holt. Existing as both documentation and independent artworks, these beautiful films capture Smithson’s and Holt’s time in Utah during the construction of the Spiral Jetty and Sun Tunnels, and invite reflection on the myriad ideas at the core of their practices, among them time, entropy, and the human impact on the environment.
