Marketing Manager
Reporting to the Executive Director, the marketing manager will work to expand KAC’s presence within the region through the development and management of marketing programs to support our core activities.GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The marketing manager will collaborate with the KAC leadership team to organize and share our programs through strategic marketing channels.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
Required: 5-7 years experience in marketing, communications, and events, preferably in the arts and culture industry. Creativity, a high level of motivation, organization, flexibility, and the ability to be collaborative is a must. Confident public speaking skills; comfortable addressing large audiences both in person at events and via media outlets. Proven oral and written communication skills.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree, ideally in art/art history/arts administration, marketing, public relations or communications. Familiarity with the regional arts and culture environment and KAC’s positioning. Graphic design, photography, event management, and nonprofit experience are a plus. Display an awareness of local and national museum statistics through the AAM or AAMD.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

- Collaborate with the Executive Director and marketing consultant to create and execute marketing strategies.
- Develop and manage marketing plans to support Kimball Art Center programs. Work with each department to implement marketing strategies (Education, Development, Curatorial and Visitors Services, and Arts Fest departments to promote exhibitions, donor and member events, and museum classes and programs.)
- Develop and manage owned and paid marketing channels, to include paid, email, social media and website content development.
- Coordinate with contracted freelance support to include graphic designer(s), photographers, videographers, and web developer(s) ensuring that all materials meet appropriate brand standards.
- Provide monthly reporting to track marketing successes and opportunities.
- Manage marketing budget and expenses.
- Art Engagement

- Develop and execute mission-related programs and activities.
- Manage logistics for events, fundraisers, and other public-facing activities of Kimball Art Center.
- Support and execute board-level Events and Exhibition committees.
- Enter, process, and track event-related payments.
- Compile event recap documents for internal review.
- Facility Rentals: Manage event rental facility program by coordinating with outside clients.
SKILLS
- Outgoing personality
- Knowledge of artistic practice and art history and desire to further advancement in art-related fields
- Advanced understanding of marketing practices to include audience segmentation, channel management and messaging hierarchy
- Ability to interact with the public in the galleries and education spaces in a welcoming, informative, diplomatic manner
- Ability to work with point-of-sale software
- Excellent computer and social media skills
- Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evening events
- Must be available for evening and weekend work leading up to and during the arts festival, July 29 – August 5, 2024.
Will require some evening, weekend and occasional holiday work for event oversight
