We will learn and practice the skills needed to create functional and sculptural vessels, finishing with carved patterns, attached elements, underglazes, and glazes to decorate our handbuilt pieces. Magical Vessels in Clay
Take a look at historical ritual vessels and build a unique “Transmutation Station” using hand-building ceramic techniques like coil and slab building. These creations will be receptacles for student’s concerns and hopes, akin to a diary, but instead of preserving one’s thoughts, they will transform and release them. The goal of this class is to learn and develop ceramic hand-building skills, while making tools for personal support and use.
