INTEGRATED ARTS EDUCATION MODEL
For more than a decade, Kimball Art Center has partnered with Park City School District to bring meaningful, hands-on visual arts experiences to elementary students through the Elementary Visual Arts (EVA) program.
Today, we are excited to share that visual arts instruction will become a fully integrated, standards-aligned part of every elementary student’s academic schedule across the district.
EVA has long been an embedded and valued part of Park City’s elementary experience. This next step formalizes and strengthens that commitment by ensuring visual arts is delivered by licensed educators and aligned within the district’s core curriculum at every school. Every elementary student, at every elementary campus, will receive consistent, developmentally appropriate arts instruction as part of their regular school day.
For Kimball Art Center, this is a meaningful expansion of our long-standing partnership. We will continue working directly with schools and educators to provide arts expertise, curriculum collaboration, museum experiences, visiting artists, and hands-on learning opportunities that deepen and extend classroom instruction. Our role as Park City’s nonprofit art center and contemporary art museum remains strong and this model allows our impact to grow in new and sustainable ways.
We are proud to see visual arts recognized as essential to the development of the whole child — fostering creativity, critical thinking, confidence, and connection. This transition ensures that arts education is not dependent on supplemental funding or volunteer capacity, but firmly established as a foundational part of every student’s learning experience.
We’re grateful to the educators, families, and community partners who built EVA and Masterpieces in Art into programs our community values so deeply. This next chapter promises to spell big things in arts education for all Park City students for years to come.
