Executive Director Aldy Milliken will deliver a special presentation, featuring images from Karl Haendel’s current exhibit, Less Bad, on display at Kimball Art Center through Dec. 1. The second half of the evening will comprise two short films from the 2024 Mountainfilm selection: “Planetwalker” and “Wild Hogs and Saffron.” All works explore themes of process, masculinity, and vulnerability. Audience members are encouraged to stay after the films for a community conversation. The event will be held at the Jim Santy Auditorium and is free to attend.
- November 14: Artist Talk With Karl Haendel. Kimball Art Center presents an Artist Talk with Karl Haendel, the man behind the current exhibition, Less Bad, where he’ll discuss his artistic journey, inspirations, and techniques. Don’t miss this chance to explore his creative process and connect with the artist behind the work. The event will be held at Kimball Art Center at 6:30 PM and is free to attend.
- November 15: Live PC Give PC + Pottery Olympics. Live PC Give PC, Park City’s annual day of giving is an opportunity to support Kimball Art Center as we inspire, educate, and connect through art. Please consider donating to Kimball Art Center now through November 15! Stop by and visit on the day to see our potters face off in the second annual Pottery Olympics. Make a donation in support of a potter and participate in a hands-on activity of your own.
- Dec 13: New Exhibition, Moving Pictures, opens. This exhibition showcases contemporary artists who explore film as both a medium and a metaphor. By reimagining its distinctive qualities—such as temporality, light, and narrative potential—the exhibition’s group of artists deconstruct the elements and materials of the cinematic experience in innovative ways. Each work offers profound reflections on themes of memory, time, and perception, inviting viewers to reconsider the nature of film itself.
- Dec 31: Noon Year’s Eve. Noon Year’s Eve is a fun and creative way for the littles to ring in the New Year at a kid-appropriate time! We’ll have festive art projects to celebrate, so kids can get creative while they count down. Kids under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Price is $35 per child, and adults are free. Light refreshments will be provided. The event will run from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM on New Year’s Eve Day.
