Week 4 (June 29th-July 2nd)

Wheel Throwing 1 Teens

February 14, 2025 by

Learn the basics of the potter’s wheel and make clay creations like cups, plates, and bowls. As students advance and build confidence, they can tackle additional wheel-thrown designs. Teens 13-17 yr old. Due to the Fourth of July holiday, this will be a 4-day week with no camp on July 4.

All work will be fired and ready for pick up at the Kimball Art Center 14 days after your class. We do not ship class work.

Note on firing: All work will be fired and ready for pick up in the Kimball Art Center 7-14 days after your class. We do not ship class work. If artwork is not picked up after 60 days it will be recycled. *Since artwork may look different after firing, make your pottery or sculpture recognizable by carving a signature into your piece. On the last day of camp, please join us for an art show to photograph work before it gets fired !

Young Filmmakers: Create Your Own Movie!

February 14, 2025 by

In our Young Filmmakers: Create Your Own Movie! camp, kids will create their own films using iPads and laptops! Over four exciting days, they’ll brainstorm, shoot, and edit their movies while learning storytelling, camera techniques, and editing skills. The camp ends with a special screening of their films!

The camp will be led by Parker Gehring, a director, writer, producer, and editor of the independently produced film Lucy and Whitney. Parker, who holds a BA in Media Arts from Brigham Young University , has a strong background in film theory, leadership, and group organizational skills. He also travels across Utah teaching film workshops for the Utah Film Center and brings his expert knowledge to help students master the filmmaking process.

Due to the Fourth of July holiday, this will be a 4-day week with no camp on July 4.
