Mixed Media

All About Animals!

February 24, 2026 by

Bring your favorite animals to life through clay, paint, and mixed media! Campers will explore different ways to create animals from sculpted pets and wild animals to imaginative creatures while learning basic art techniques and expressing their creativity. Projects are hands-on, fun, and designed for young artists to take home their own one-of-a-kind animal creations.

Note on firing: All work will be fired and ready for pick up in the Kimball Art Center 7 days after your class. We do not ship class work. If artwork is not picked up after 60 days it will be recycled. *Since artwork may look different after firing, make your pottery or sculpture recognizable by carving a signature into your piece. On the last day of camp, please join us for an art show to photograph work before it gets fired!

This camp is suited for ages 6-12.

Family Friendly: K-Pop Demon Hunters Tiger Workshop

November 21, 2025 by

Create “Derpy,” K-pop Tiger. Fun and playful art workshop where we blend traditional Korean folk painting (Minhwa) with the bright style of K-pop demon-hunter animation. In this workshop, you will paint “Derpy “ a cute, chubby tiger with blue shining mismatched eyes. “Derpy is like a real cat: goofy but wise, lazy but loyal” – The director Maggie Kang.

You will learn the Minhwa brush stroke and ink techniques to draw Derpy’s round, soft, expressive face and the blue glow in Derpy’s odd eyes. This workshop is great for beginners and anyone who loves K-pop, animation, and Korean culture. Join to workshop to relax, paint, and bring Derpy the Blue-Glow Tiger to life!

Materials will be provided, any youth under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
