Every week Kimball Art Center hosts an art studio time for youth on Park City’s early release day. Each lesson connects the elements and principals of art with an exciting theme. Expect to try new art materials, learn technical skills and explore creative ideas with other art loving youth.

Fearless Abstract Painting Workshop (2 Days)
Play, experiment, have fun! Explore spontaneous creation with emphasis on “no rules!”. Join professional artist Samantha da Silva as she shares her unorthodox method of painting: Rollers rather than brushes, tables instead of easels, lots of paint and water, canvas manipulation and plaster, salt, sand and wood shavings to create ethereal, textured abstracts. Heart-centered discussions will be offered to assist you to let go of fear, silence the inner critic, turn up your intuition & explore your own artistic style in a safe, supportive environment including: 6 Questions to Help You Paint Fearless, Compassionate Critiques, How to tell your painting is finished, and so much more! Everyone is considered a beginner. No previous artistic experience necessary, just an open mind and an open heart.
Spring Break Youth Camp 3 – 2 spots left
Featuring drawing, painting, clay, mixed media, and more. Each full day of camp is just $75 per child and offers a new creative learning experience and art project. Lunch is not included. Please bring lunch and snack.
Sail Away- Kids
Let’s sail away into the great seas! This class will introduce the basics of three-dimensional design and processes by exploring cardboard, foam, wood, paper and other materials to create small sculptures. Each day we will learn about different boats and how to create floatable designs.
Textiles: Knit, Felt and Wearable Art- Kids
This camp will introduce campers to the basics of textile and fiber art techniques like embroidery, felt collages, knitting, weaving, sewing, macramé, tie dying, fabric painting and more. Campers can wear their creations!
Try it Out- Kids
Campers will explore a variety of media in this contemporary art inspired camp – from the wire Art of Ruth Asawa to the pop art print of Andy Warhol – we’ll learn about the ideas and processes that go into making art and explore each media to find creative ideas of our own.
