Plein Air Prep 2

Learn the fundamentals of landscape drawing and painting while practicing skills and techniques virtually. These pop-in cyber sessions allow you to work with your own materials in a variety of media and will prepare you for the upcoming plein-air painting season. Price is per session.

Materials needed:

Paper, pencils, pens, colored pencils, eraser, markers, watercolors, paints.

Art Experiments

Paint and brushes are nice, but not always necessary. We’ll get creative with art materials and see how objects like Q-tips, sticks, or even cutlery can be used to apply color from unique sources like soy sauce and lipstick to create art and give a piece meaning. This class is equal parts experimenting and learning.

Materials needed:

Paint brushes, paper, household materials.

Painting Concepts

Choosing either acrylic or oil paints, artists will learn to paint from references including photographs and still-life sets. Be sure to have some personal images nearby to reference.

Watercolor Exploration 101

An introduction to the magic of watercolor for beginners or anyone that needs a refresher. Students will learn to use paint, paper, palette, and brushes, as well as how to apply color and create a piece they are proud of.

Watercolor, brushes, paper, masking tape, paper towel, palette, pencil, eraser.
