Choosing either acrylic or oil paints, artists will learn to paint from references including photographs and still-life sets. This is a five-week course, so bring some personal images too!

Simply Start Watercolors
An introduction to the magic of watercolor for beginners. Students will learn what kind of paint, paper, palette, and brushes are best, as well as how to mix colors and apply them to watercolor paper. This is a step-by-step class with start-to-finish instructions. Lunch is not provided.
Open Painting Studio
Do you need a convenient drop-in studio space? Kimball Art Center’s painting studio is available! We supply the easels and space, you bring your materials and work alongside other creatives. If you’re new to Kimball Art Center, please check in with an education staff member at 10am for a quick introductory tour of the facility. Price is per session. Materials can be provided for an extra fee.
Three Weeks of Watercolor Wonder
Explore the wonderful world of watercolor! Learn about different watercolor techniques using wax resist, salt speckling, tape resist, and more. Your walls will be decked out, as kids can take home a new masterpiece after each class.
Cornucopia of Colors
Bursts of crimson and orange will fill your canvas as you learn to paint fall scenes in watercolor.
Winter Watercolor
Snowcapped mountains, a roaring fire on a cold night, and pine trees dusted with white. These are just some of the winter scenes you’ll create in this mixed media and watercolors class.
