After school, kids can explore art using a variety of fun materials each week. Drop-ins welcome.
This week: Try out Photography – Discover photograms, photo transfers and polaroids.

September 21 – Cardboard Creations: Explore the art of creating cardboard machines.
September 28 – Create a Character: Tell a story with drawing!
October 5 – Painting Fun: Learn to mix colors, and walk away with a one of kind canvas
October 12 – Experiments in science and ART: Partake in colorful activities that combine art and science.
October 26 – Build in 3D: Engineer structures out of bamboo, cardboard and other materials!
November 2 – The Art of Transparency: Create a faux stained glass and experiment with Watercolors on a transparency.
November 9 – Clay: Create a literary character out of clay using handbuilding techniques.
November 16: Artful Animation: From hand drawn to claymation, bring your stories to life.

The Art of Digital Photography
Learn about in-camera control, camera functions and settings, and discuss new techniques in this interactive class. Wear comfortable walking shoes as much of this class involves exploring nearby picturesque locations. No cell phone cameras, please.
Hike & Shoot: Cell Phone Photography Workshop
Develop your photographic vision and learn about your cell phone camera while exploring the nature and beauty of Park City this summer. Instructor and local photographer Mark Maziarz will meet with participants at the Kimball Art Center at 5:30 p.m. and then go out on a hike or walk that suits the goals of the class for the evening. This informal workshop will have an open studio feeling where we will discuss questions, challenges, issues and ideas you have about photography. Topics can include landscapes, people, town scenes, sports and more. We’ll also discuss and practice precedents in the history of photography in search of inspiration and various points-of-view. Any type of smart phone with a camera (iPhone, Android, Windows or Amazon Fire) is required. Advanced beginners and up are welcome. During the field session, students have one-on-one time with the instructor. Students return to the Kimball to review work and discuss next steps. Class includes easy to moderate hikes, so make sure to bring your camera, a charged battery, water, snack and comfortable shoes!
