It might be messy, but it will be fun! Campers will push the bounders of the the selected medium while using innovative methods to create art. Campers will mix colors and apply paints with unexpected tools to create mixed media paintings.
WBSAS Theme- Kids
What materials are used in art? Our youngest artists will explore the variety of art materials that can be used to create in this week long camp. Each camper will choose a favorite work to be displayed in Kimball Art Center’s annual Wasatch Back Student Art Show.
Wheel Throwing 1- Kids(9-12 only)
Campers will get their hands dirty as they learn the basics of the potter’s wheel and make clay creations to include cups, plates, and/or bowls.
Watercolor- Teens
3 Day workshop with professional watercolor artist Cindy Briggs. Practice the basics and develop your own style painting subject mater from objects to portraits.
Digital Photography- Teens
Learn about in-camera control, camera functions and settings, and discuss new techniques in this interactive class. Wear comfortable walking shoes as much of this class involves exploring nearby picturesque locations. Bring your own digital camera (no cell phones please).
Wheel Throwing 2- Teens
Learn the basics of the potter’s wheel and make clay creations like cups, plates, and bowls. As students advance and build confidence, they can tackle additional wheel-thrown designs.
