Winter is magical and it’s fun to make art to celebrate the season. Tots will paint wondrous winter landscape paintings, cut and paste snowflake shapes, and build snowy sculptures out of clay. Each day will have a new wintery adventure in store! Tots learn valuable creative skills while having a blast.
Autumn Leaf Suncatchers
Have fun with Anna in making beautiful autumn leaf suncatchers with tissue paper and a variety of leaf shapes. Tots will learn about fall colors and the changing seasons as they create their suncatchers to place in their windows at home.
Tots Turkey Pots
Join Cameron in the studio as he teaches students another fun clay project that celebrates Thanksgiving. In his simple step-by-step process, he will show students how to create adorable clay turkey pots to adorn any fall table and to display for years to come. Due to drying and firing times, pottery will be ready to pick up 7-10 days after the class.
Tots Think 3D!
Tots have fun with Cameron learning about sculpture and 3D forms. Experiment with paper, cardboard, clay, and fun mixed media materials. Tots will make something new each day to bring home. Think outside the box, think 3D! Parents do not need to accompany children in this class, but students need to be 4 to 5 years of age.
Wake & Draw: Open Studio Figure Draw Session VI
Ages 18+
Unwind from the work week and enjoy your Saturday morning in the studio. This class has been offered because of popular demand! Grab an easel or a drawing horse, bring a pad of paper, your preferred drawing medium, and your creativity. A nude and/or draped model will be present to pose. Students will work with the model to communicate positions, quick draw exercises, or extended time draws, etc., which will allow students to continue their study of the figure. There is no instructor during this open studio session, so it is suggested that students who register have figure drawing experience. Wake & Draw is meant to be a creative meeting place for artistic people to share their techniques and skills on a community setting. Come by and try it! Space is limited to 10 students, so please register in advance to reserve your space.
Winter Animal Habitats in Clay
Some animals love the cold and snow! Penguins swim in icy water, polar bears climb on glaciers and icebergs, and snow foxes burrow their noses in snow to find food. Families have fun imagining their favorite winter animals, where they live, and creating animals sculptures and animal habitats out of clay using coil, slab, slipping, and scoring techniques! This class will be a blast! Due to drying and firing times, pottery will be ready to pick up 7-10 days after the class session is finished.
