Kimball Art Center Executive Director Robin Marrouche
Transitions to New Role on Board of Directors
Robin Marrouche oversaw incredible growth for the Kimball Art Center over the last nine years and will now focus her efforts on fundraising for a permanent home for the arts organization
Park City, UT – After nearly nine years as Executive Director of the Kimball Art Center (KAC), Robin Marrouche will transition from her current role to join the Kimball’s Board of Directors in February of 2017. During her leadership tenure, Marrouche focused on community building, organizational growth, and the future of the KAC. In that time, KAC’s year-round attendance has more than tripled, core education programs and services continue to grow to meet the needs of our community, the Arts Festival now draws over 50,000 people, and the annual economic impact of the Festival has doubled to $28 million.
Marrouche’s notable accomplishments include forming KAC’s collaborative partnerships with numerous Park City nonprofits and businesses to share the transformative power of the arts with groups in the community and statewide.
Marrouche expanded the KAC’s free art programs and launched Art Talks, in which artists from all over the world participate. She helped conceive of the KAC’s first artist-in-residence program, RELEVANT, and oversaw such world-class exhibits as Dale Chihuly, Ansel Adams, and Picturing the Iconic: From Andy Warhol to Kara Walker. In 2012, she oversaw the international design competition won by Bjarke Ingels and BIG, one of the most important emerging architectural firms of our time. This year, she introduced and integrated performing arts at the annual Gala with The Way of the Rain, featuring Sibylle Szaggars Redford, Robert Redford and other notable musicians and dancers.
Robin Marrouche, Executive Director of the KAC said, “I’ve been deeply honored to lead the KAC and am grateful for the community’s response to our programs that led to unprecedented growth in the organization. This transition will allow me to focus one hundred percent of my efforts toward the new building project and to support the senior management team. My heart, head, and passion remain with the Kimball Art Center. Now more than ever I intend to concentrate on realizing our exciting dream of building a permanent home that is of, by, and for the community.”
Given the momentum from identifying recent growth opportunities, Marrouche’s new focus will be serving the KAC as a Board member on the long-range planning committee, aimed at solidifying and ultimately driving a successful capital campaign for its permanent home. “For nine years, the Kimball Art Center has been extremely fortunate to have Robin Marrouche as our Executive Director. Robin has consistently provided dynamic and creative leadership. Fortunately, we get to retain those talents as Robin has agreed to remain with us as a Board member and will help lead our evolution,” said Maggie AbuHaidar, KAC Board Chair. “As we move forward with the search for an Executive Director in the new year to lead us into our next phase of growth and development, we look forward to an exciting future for the Kimball.”
The KAC Board will do a national search to fill the Executive Director position and bring someone in who has the vision and experience to help the organization chart its new course. Kathy Kennedy, who was brought on in November of 2013 in anticipation of this eventual transition, will continue to oversee all operations in her role as Managing Director.
