This is a favorite art experience for kids in Park City. Glass and tile are great mediums for growing confidence in a child’s creativity. The students are given lots of freedom in their choice of design and project goals. They learn skills in cutting, placing, grouting and finishing a mosaic masterpiece. Students return year after year and become extraordinarily proficient in this art form. This is an art piece they will be proud of their entire lives.
Camp
LaLaLa Musikalia
What happens when we mix art and music together? Magic! Students build unique musical instruments in this class using art materials and recycled materials. Kids will make these projects their own by detailing the instruments with colors and symbols using painting and drawing materials. Kids will make mini guitars, hand drums, shakers, and more to create their very own artistic ensemble!
YogART for Kids
Be creative and active in YogART with Randi Jo! During the first hour, Randi Jo will lead a yoga lesson with the kids. During the second half of the class, kids will participate in an art project that aligns with the theme of the day. Kids will learn about mandalas, chakras, meditation, and mindfulness while creating and having fun!
Print, Paint, Repeat for Kids
Dive into the art of printmaking! Using wood blocks, kids will learn how to build surfaces onto the block to create images and prints. Kids will also learn about relief printmaking, where students carve into foam to make beautiful impressions. Some everyday objects can be used in printmaking, and Janice will show kids what can be used so they can try printmaking at home! Kids will leave class with a series of prints and a new skill!
Shapeland for Kids
Students will explore shapes in this class, and how they can form stamps, prints, and textures. Kids will be making projects using rolling pins, creating their own stamps, and exploring how to use common everyday objects to make beautiful paintings.
Nature Art for Kids
Kids will explore their creativity outside in the sunshine learning how to collage, draw, paint and sculpt using natural materials such as leaves, flowers, and twigs. Students will learn and talk about well-known “earthworks” or “land art” while learning about the environment and how to make eco-friendly artwork.
