Favorite Books to Inspire Art!
Join us for a weeklong colorful journey into the enchanting realm of art with our summer camp inspired by many timeless classic books like ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ by Eric Carle! Age appropriate books will be chosen and serve as a foundation for daily story time adventures, igniting the spark of creativity and encouraging our budding artists to express themselves through a variety of art mediums. Join us for a week filled with storytelling, imagination, and the joy of creating art!
OFF SITE Summer Camp- Cartooning
If you love cartoons, get ready for an unforgettable week! Learn all about different cartooning styles and techniques, explore character creation, storyboarding and learn about the history of cartooning. From quick sketches to color drawings, students will create many exciting pieces by the end of the camp week.
Character Sculptures
Whether fairy, faun, or fiery dragon, bring your fantastical characters to life in this clay sculpting camp for teens. Learn how to take your character from story concept to 3D sculpted model.
All work will be fired and ready for pick up at the Kimball Art Center 14 days after your class. We do not ship class work.
Metal Art
From bending wire to welding steel teens will explore various ways to make art with metal. Projects include recycled metal characters, hanging wire mobiles and plasma cut designs. *Must be able to follow teacher directions and safety guidelines. Parents will be required to sign a waiver.
Stories into Art
Learn about picture book layout, pacing, character design, sketching thumbnail and composition to illustrate a full colored finished piece. Our storyboarding will encourage us to explore humor, wonder, depths of emotion, and the fantastical through our illustrations. The last day will be spent collaborating on a story for an artistic puppet show!
