Winter Break Art Drop In- Land Art

Explore your creativity during the winter break and drop-in to our studios between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m for a winter themed art project. Unlike a typical class, this open studio lab is self-directed, with KAC staff standing by for assistance. Plan on one hour to complete the project, themes vary each day and are appropriate for kids and adults! Kids under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Cost is $5 in advance and $10 at the door.

Theme:  Land Art 

Winter break drop-ins are for creatives of ALL ages. To include everyone in the fun, stations are set up with age appropriate variations on the theme. 

Folks 13+: Explore the Earth’s layers by creating sand art in a jar. 

Youth 6-12: Create a symbol using glue and colored sand.

Kiddos 6 and under: Make a landscape painting using natural materials or sand.

Youth 6-12: Learn to carve a shape in soap.

Kiddos 6 and under: Turn a bar of soap into an animal.

Winter Break Art Drop In- Printmaking

Folks 13+: Carve a small linoleum block to make a personalized stamp.

Youth 6-12: Make a design in foam and print it on a card or wrapping paper.

Kiddos 6 and under: Play with stamps to decorate gift wrapping materials.

Kiddos 6 and under: Explore shapes and textures with clay to make ornaments.

Youth 6-12: Bundle yarn to make crafts with poms.

Kiddos 6 and under: Make snowflakes with yarn sequins and popsicle sticks.

Youth 6-12: Sketch a snow adventure inspired flip book 

Kiddos 6 and under: Fill in a sensory winter themed journal while exploring art materials.
