Simple Sculptures

We’ll experiment with sculpture and printmaking to create and build in 3D.

Materials needed:

Cardboard, glue or hot glue gun, pie tins, sharpies, aluminum foil, glue, pencils, pens, any paint.

This class meets on Zoom.

Front Page Appreciation for Teachers

Materials needed:

Newspaper, scissors, liquid glue, markers, stapler.

This year’s Wasatch Back Student Art Show will be a virtual presentation of the creativity of our community’s young artists. The annual Wasatch Back Student Art Show is open to all K-12 students residing in or attending public, private, charter, or homeschools in Summit and Wasatch counties.

The 2020 theme is: “It’s Not What It Seems.” In this free online class, student artists will consider what this theme means to them and draw, sketch, or illustrate their ideas with encouragement and guidance from Kimball Art Center’s education director, Heather Stamenov. Students will learn skills and techniques to express their unique voice and create artwork they’ll submit for the exhibition.

The Wasatch Back Student Art Show is sponsored by the Tomilee Tilley Family Fund.

Pencils, paper, colored pencils, crayons, ruler, eraser.

3 Weeks of Playful Paper for Kids

We’ll explore a variety of ways to give volume and life to paper. Kids will discover ways paper can mimic soft flowing forms found in nature and learn to make sculptures by simply cutting and gluing.

Materials needed:

Paper, pencil, glue, scissors, ruler, markers or paint.

3 Weeks of Treasure Boxes for Kids

It’s what’s on the inside that counts! Kids will enjoy creating treasure boxes as unique as they are. Boxes can be filled with collage, personal keepsakes, stories, and other small found items.

Materials needed:

Altoid tin, gift box or cigar box or shoe box, glue, tissue paper, scrapbook paper, origami paper, printer paper, newspaper, any paper, sharpies or markers of all sizes, pencil, scissors.
