Practice the basics of the potter’s wheel and make clay creations like cups, plates, and bowls. As students advance and build confidence, they can tackle additional wheel-thrown designs. Because each student is unique, projects may be altered and one-on-one instruction will be given to suit each student’s skills, talents, knowledge, and interest level.

This is not a typical class, instead, a studio staff member will provide a demonstration at the start of the session in either wheel throwing or hand building techniques. A nominal $40 fee includes enough clay for two completed pieces as well as firing and glazing. All ages are welcome, but children 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Potter’s wheel not recommended for children under 8.
All work will be fired and ready for pick up in the Kimball Art Center lobby 7-14 days after your class. We do not ship class work.
