Figure Drawing (Intensive)

Learn and practice basic drawing skills to gain complete confidence drawing the figure. You will learn how to achieve accurate proportions and add life to your drawings through gesture.

Materials needed:

Pencil, paper, eraser, (optional: charcoal, drawing board and clips, newsprint).

Watercolor Exploration 101

An introduction to the magic of watercolor for beginners or anyone that needs a refresher. Students will learn to use paint, paper, palette, and brushes, as well as how to apply color and create a piece they are proud of.

Materials needed:

Watercolor, brushes, paper, masking tape, paper towel, palette, pencil, eraser.

Plein Air Prep 1

Learn the fundamentals of landscape drawing and painting while practicing skills and techniques virtually. These pop-in cyber sessions allow you to work with your own materials in a variety of media and will prepare you for the upcoming plein-air painting season. Price is per session.

Paper, pencils, pens, colored pencils, eraser, markers, watercolors, paints.

3 Weeks of Bookbinding Basics for Adults

Have you been chronicling your quarantine? Write your thoughts in a journal you create! We’ll cover several basic bookbinding techniques.

Materials needed:

Japanese stab technique, accordion fold book, 3 hole pamphlet stitch: card stock or heavier paper, printer paper 10-12 sheets, large hole needle, binding thread waxed or (any string will do), ruler, glue stick, scissors.

Join us for a virtual discussion about the motivation, inspiration, and exploration behind a piece of art. We’ll share images, discuss work, and examine in-progress pieces to help us find and understand our artistic voice.
