Painting Concepts Session 1 Theme: Water
Using oil paint, learn how to approach the subject of water- from rivers, lakes, streams, to the capricious sea. We will let go of what we think we know about blue waters and begin to see the many layers and variables that influence the subtle colors that emerge and disappear on the changing surface, capturing the shapes, patterns and colors to translate onto canvas.
Utah Landscapes in Watercolors 2 Days (from Arches to Park City)
Discover how to mix a Utah canyon land palette of watercolors. You’ll complete a painting each day as we capture the simplified shapes, captivating colors and dramatic values of the sunlit rocks formations in Zion and Arches National Parks.
Handbuilding in Clay Session 1
The beauty of hand-built ceramics arises in the freedom of form. Captivating asymmetry and unique sculptural form can be achieved using techniques like slab rolling and coil building. We will learn the skills and techniques needed to create functional and sculptural vessels, finishing with carved patterns, attached elements, underglazes, and glazes to decorate our hand-built pieces.
