Grab an easel or a drawing horse, bring a pad of paper, your preferred drawing medium and your creativity. A nude and/or draped model will be present to pose. Students will work with the model to communicate positions, quick draw exercises or extended time draws, etc., which will allow students to continue their study of the figure. There is no instructor during this open studio session, so it is suggested that students who register have figure drawing experience. Introduction to Drawing Landscapes
Draw what you see, not what you know. Look, explore and discover the truth of the subject landscapes. Seeing lines, finding shapes, values and edges. Comparative thinking and how light affects value, contrast and form. What is dark in light and what is light in shadow. Also learning design, placement and proportion. A good painting has to start with a good drawing!

Drawing & Painting Fundamentals @ Old Town Cellars
Relax and create with us at Old Town Cellars and enjoy a truly unique creative experience. This class will be all studio work, for the beginner as well as the seasoned student. This class will include one-on-one instruction. Students will practice drawing and painting from reference material and still life objects of the student’s choice. The basic limited palette will be explained, drawing and painting instruction, as well as various types of light and shadow and a brief discussion of color theory. Tools and materials will also be discussed to give students an idea of what materials we use and why. Bring a date, a group of friends or come on your own and have fun! This class is for adults 21+ only.
