Experiment in Clay

Every Saturday we will dip our toes into the world of ceramic sculpture.
See things you might not see in a “pottery” class.
We will explore:
Expressive Portraits
Carving and Hollowing
Abstract Figurative
Musical Ceramics ~ Bells and Whistles
Relief Sculpture
IMAGINATION!
I encourage parents and Grandparents to take the class right alongside your kids. It’s a great family bonding activity.  ~
All work will be fired 7 to 14 days after class.  If you haven’t heard from our clay technician by then, just come pick it up in the front lobby.

Large vessels in clay (HB)- 2 Day Workshop

by

Students will learn traditional hand-building techniques used in building large clay vessels. Demonstrations, visual aids, and instructor support will guide learning. A range of forms and references will be discussed along with thematic ideas. Surface techniques such as adding carvings and textures will also be explored. As forms are large, they will need time to dry before being fired in a kiln. Students can finish pieces with a clay slip prior to the drying stage.

This class , designed for all ages (6 and up) , explores a different 3 Dimensional media each week. From clay to wire, enjoy learning new sculptural skills and building fun art. A great class for all creative types who want to play in the studio and try new materials.
