Mosaics

Assembling small pieces of colored glass, stone, and other materials, students will learn how to design, choose color, form lines, and shape a decorative piece of art.

Due to drying and firing times, glass will be ready to pick up 12-14 days after the class session is finished.

Demonstrating Artist: Magda Gluszek

by

In this two-day demonstration, sculptor Magda Gluszek will share the techniques she uses to create emotionally expressive figures in clay. Beginning with a basic maquette, she will take viewers on a guided tour of her process as she scales up from a smaller form while using a solid-building method and a simple, moveable armature. Basic figurative proportions, facial anatomy, detailing hands and feet, and hollowing the finished sculpture will also be discussed and demonstrated. Drop-ins welcome.

Figure Drawing Intensive

This three-day intensive workshop is designed for those interested in the human figure. Students will learn techniques to represent the human body accurately while concentrating on proportions, volumes, body landmarks, and gesture.
