Intro to Watercolors for Teens
There is so much to learn when creating paintings in watercolor. Learn and have fun with Anna as she teaches students how to paint with watercolors using water resist techniques with tape, salt, and oil pastels. Every lesson is a happy experiment, and the students love the amazing results! Come and enjoy a relaxing watercolor class with Anna!
2-D Animation for Teens
Students will learn to do basic, hand-drawn 2D animation in this class. Together, we will draw a basic bouncing ball cycle that will be ready for animation. After that concept is taught, students will begin drawing a basic walk cycle using tracing paper. Kylie will help students digitize their animations, and will have the sequence saved on a flash drive. On the last day, students will create mini flip books, and will present their books in class!
Teen Sketch & Draw
In this class, students will work with Emily to discover various methods of drawing. This class will be an exploration of drawing materials. Students will be given the opportunity to experiment with different colored paper, charcoal, graphite, powdered graphite/charcoal, white charcoal, pastel pencils and liquefied graphite and charcoal. Students may bring in images they wish to work with or they may work from a still life that will be set up for each class.
Print, Paint, Repeat for Teens
Dive into the art of printmaking! Using wood blocks, teens will learn how to build surfaces onto the block to create images and prints. Teens will also learn about relief printmaking, where students carve into foam to make beautiful impressions. Some everyday objects can be used in printmaking, and Janice will show teens what can be used so they can try printmaking at home! Students will leave class with a series of prints after class.
Get Out and Draw for Kids
Students will enjoy the summer weather while learning to draw what they see outside. Students will go outside to find a view they would like to draw, and using a drawing board, paper, pencils, and colored pencils kids will draw a light sketch. Kylie will lead students in how to develop a drawing by slowly adding details and color. Throughout the week, students will use different materials including oil pastel, chalk pastel, and watercolors to create artwork au plein air!
