Combine the curiosity of science with the fun of art! From science experiments, to hands-on creative art projects inspired by the study of the natural world, each artwork will be unique! This camp is for 6-12 yr olds.
Week 1 (June 8th-12th) - Summer
Wheel Throwing 1 Kids
Get ready to get your hands dirty in Wheel Throwing Camp! In this hands-on camp, young artists will learn the basics of pottery and wheel throwing. They’ll discover how to shape clay, create bowls, cups, and other fun pieces on the pottery wheel, all while exploring their creativity and learning new skills. Perfect for kids who love getting crafty and want to try something new with clay! Kids Ages 8+ only.
Note on firing: All work will be fired and ready for pick up in the Kimball Art Center 7-14 days after your class. We do not ship class work. If artwork is not picked up after 60 days it will be recycled. *Since artwork may look different after firing, make your pottery or sculpture recognizable by carving a signature into your piece.
On the last day of camp, please join us for an art show to photograph work before it gets fired !
Drawtopia: All about Drawing!
Get ready to unleash your imagination at Drawtopia: All About Drawing! In this camp, kids will explore the exciting world of drawing, from sketching simple shapes to creating detailed artwork. Whether you’re drawing animals, cartoons, or abstract designs, you’ll learn new techniques, experiment with different styles, and have fun bringing your ideas to life on paper. The Animals Around Us: Art about Local Wildlife
Explore the diverse and fascinating world of local wildlife right here in the mountains of Park City. This week-long journey is tailor-made for mini artists curious about the creatures that share our natural surroundings, from majestic mountain lions to charming moose capturing them in various media from paint to sculpture.
