Plein Air Prep 2

Learn the fundamentals of landscape drawing and painting while practicing skills and techniques virtually. These pop-in cyber sessions allow you to work with your own materials in a variety of media and will prepare you for the upcoming plein-air painting season. Price is per session.

Materials needed:

Paper, pencils, pens, colored pencils, eraser, markers, watercolors, paints.

Art Connoisseur Club

Talking about art can be intimidating. We’ll help you get comfortable discussing art in this conversation-only class. We’ll examine a variety of contemporary artwork and ask thought-provoking questions to initiate a dialogue that will help participants understand the value of art, the role of an artist, how to interpret meaning, consider how an artist finds inspiration, and examine the subjects, issues, and themes important to artists.

This class meets on Zoom.

Educator’s Night

Have you been chronicling your quarantine? Write your thoughts in a journal you create! We’ll cover several basic bookbinding techniques and add in some core curriculum tie in for your students along the way.

For teachers, please sign up with your school email.

Materials needed:

Card stock or heavier paper, printer paper 10-12 sheets, large hole needle, binding thread waxed or (any string will do), ruler, glue stick, scissors.

This class meets via Zoom.

Landscape Photography & Critiques

Learn the basic of landscape photography, then apply them to your shots! We’ll critique images the second week of this class.

Digital camera.

It’s the Little Things

Big narratives in small packages. We’ll learn to build miniature dioramas using matchboxes or tin containers. But the stories that go with them are larger than life!

Materials needed:

Tin containers or matchboxes, paper, scissors, glue &/or glue gun, pencils.

Backyard Picnics

April 22, 2020 by

Build a picnic table in your backyard and invite your neighborhood birds and squirrels.

Materials needed:

Popsicle sticks, glue gun or liquid glue, felt or fabric scraps, treats for birds and squirrels, bottlecaps.
