Explorations in Painting II

December 4, 2016 by

Take time to relax and learn to paint with either acrylic or oil paints in this class (student’s choice). Students will learn to paint from references – either photographs and/or still life sets.  Students can bring in their own photographs to paint.  By the last day of class, students will have the skills necessary to continue painting on their own, or advance to another class.

Clay Studio Sampler

December 2, 2016 by

A perfect class for beginners! Make a different project while learning a new technique each week. Wheel throwing, a range of handbuilding techniques, and glazing are all covered during this fun, intensive class. By the end of the class, students will complete at least four projects, and gain a better understanding and appreciation of the ceramic medium. Due to drying and firing times, pottery will be ready for pick up 10-12 days after class has ended.

Digital Photography for Teens & Tweens

December 2, 2016 by

Get outside with Rebekah and learn about in-camera control and essential camera functions while in automatic and manual settings. Each day students will go out in the field and take photos with the instructor and explore beautiful Park City. Students will either walk to local destinations, or will take city transit to visit the McPolin Barn or other picturesque locals. On the last day of class, students will meet at the Park City Library to download their photos and learn basic editing techniques to give their images a finished, polished look. Students will walk away from class with a collection of beautiful photographs, plus the skills and knowledge to continue digital photography on their own. All skill levels welcome. No cell phone cameras, please.

Succulent Homes for Teens & Tweens

December 2, 2016 by

Get excited for spring by bringing some greenery and creativity into your life! Come create fun planters that are uniquely your own. Students will hand build their planters and explore surface decoration on the first two classes, glaze on the third, and plant them with succulents or cacti on the last day of class! All skill levels welcome. Due to drying and firing times, pottery will be ready for pick up 10-12 days after class has ended.

Art Exploration for Kids

December 2, 2016 by

Students will explore art with a variety of different mediums and techniques to diversify their creativity. We will focus on learning the basics of sculpture, printmaking, painting, and weaving. Kids will learn about 2D and 3D shapes, create sculpture fossils, carve blocks for printmaking, and make colorful weavings in this creative class!
