Students will create their favorite Star Wars characters, then create a mini terrarium for them to call home. First, students will make Star Wars characters out of felt, yarn, popsicle sticks, air-dry clay or other various supplies. They will then decide what kind of environment their characters should be in. Students will search outside for found objects, such as dirt, sand, rocks, sticks, etc., then place their characters inside. Kids will walk away with an awesome terrarium for display. Students will also be making Star Wars themed paintings and drawings to pair with their terrarium. May the creative force be with you!

Flow: The Workshop
David Habben’s abstract ink drawings come to life as he watches dancers move around him, his rapid yet deliberate brush strokes capturing the energy and power of what he witnesses. In this exciting workshop, participants will be directly involved in the process of creating work as part of David’s new exhibition Flow, on view at the Kimball Art Center December 16, 2017 – January 7, 2018.
Workshop attendees will join David in creating a new drawing over 25 feet long as dancers from the Duhaime Movement Project inspire the group with expertly choreographed modern dance. Each attendee will create their own work to take home using the technique that David will demonstrate, while the large group mural created in collaboration with the artist will be displayed for the duration of the Flow exhibition. This will be an amazing experience for all involved and most certainly a night to remember.
