Join us in the studio with exhibiting artist, Giselle Hicks! This one day workshop will focus on a fundamental clay forming technique: coil and pinch. This way of building can be used to make hand-built vessels or sculptural forms. Giselle will demonstrate her technique for making simple and complex forms with hand rolled coils and a banding wheel. Students will have the opportunity to learn her delicate technique and make their own coil and pinched forms as well.

Each student chooses to focus on either cats or dogs to inspire their art! Kids will make a sculpture of a cat or dog that doubles as a bowl to keep small treasures using clay. We will also make paper mache masks, and carve stamps of your favorite pets. Have fun celebrating your favorite pets through art!
