Trash or treasure? We let our students decide! This class encourages kids to use discarded items to create art. Recycling, upcycling and sustainability are their own art form!
Thursday
Illustrious Illustrations
Students learn drawing basics to illustrate their own characters and scenes from their favorite stories. This class will help children develop their own drawing style, while teaching observation, proportion and shape.
Inner Engineer
Channel your child’s inner engineer in this 3D machine making class. Using cardboard, clay, wire, and papier-mâché, students will create cars, robots and other simple machines with art.
Try Before You Buy
Consider these two full days of art camp a tasting menu of sorts. Students will be exposed to a variety of themes, media and techniques; allowing them to discover and develop an interest before committing to a week-long class.
Story Time Art for Tots
Tots can relax, learn and get inspired creating art in this free interactive story time art class. We will begin each class with circle reading time, where little ones can learn about a story and get inspired by the illustrations. When the story is finished, students will head to the studio for a fun art project that is themed around the book. All ages are welcome, but the art project will be targeted toward a toddler age group.
Choose Your Own Medium II (P.M. Session II)
Learn to paint with either acrylic or oil paints in this class. Students will paint from either still life sets and/or photographs which they will choose as a class or individually. By the last day of class, students will have the skills necessary to continue painting on their own, or advance to another class. Please bring a photograph (your own work or something you are interested in) to class with you on the first day. Beginning to intermediate level students are welcome. Students are also invited to take a full day of painting and register for both the A.M. and P.M. sessions.
