Take time to relax and learn to paint with either acrylic or oil paints in this class. Students will paint from either still life sets and/or photographs which they will choose as a class or individually. By the last day of class, students will have the skills necessary to continue painting on their own, or advance to another class. Please bring a photograph (your own work or something you are interested in) to class with you on the first day. Beginning to intermediate level students are welcome.

Wheel Throwing for Teens II
All skill levels welcome! Learn the tricks of success for making clay objects on the wheel. If you have never thrown before this is the best class to learn the basics of the potter’s wheel. Students are also welcome to practice their skills for improvement. We will start with cups and bowls for students to gain confidence on the wheel. As students advance, they are welcome to come up with their own sculptural wheel thrown designs. Due to drying and firing times, pottery will be ready to pick up 10-12 days after the class session is finished.
Digital Photography for Teens
Students learn about in-camera control. Learn about the functions in your camera while in automatic and manual settings. Each day students show photographs on a projector and then discuss new techniques. Students go out in the field and take photos with the instructor during class exploring beautiful Park City. Students will either walk to local destinations, or will take city transit to visit the White Barn or other picturesque places. Students will have a small collection of photographs that tell a story by the last day of class, plus the skills and knowledge to continue on their own. This is a great way to have students learn to take awesome summer photos. No cell phone cameras, please.
Intro to Watercolors for Teens
There is so much to learn when creating paintings in watercolor. Learn and have fun with Anna as she teaches students how to paint with watercolors using water resist techniques with tape, salt, and oil pastels. Every lesson is a happy experiment, and the students love the amazing results! Come and enjoy a relaxing watercolor class with Anna!
Shadowbox Worlds for Teens
Teens will think outside the box, and inside the box! Students have fun creating 3-dimensional worlds in shadow boxes. A diorama is magical because it tells a story about the artist. Students will pick a theme (i.e. a dream, a movie, a painter, or a place) and using papers and collage materials, will learn how to layer and create perspective inside their mini worlds. Big imaginations are required for this class!
New Perspectives: Drawing & Painting for Teens
Beginning with the basics of landscape, students will then expand upon what they see. Stretching the imagination, students will deconstruct the natural surroundings they observe in reality. From cityscapes to mountain ranges, students will play with combining horizon lines to make a new, imagined landscape. Students will also examine images “under a microscope”, taking an object from nature (feather, stick, rock, leaf etc.), and taking a closer look to focus on the amazing details of the natural world. Perhaps try to draw the world upside down to test the mind and train the eyes to see the new shapes that form. We will challenge the norm and experiment with new perspectives.
