Develop your photographic vision and learn about your camera while exploring the nature and beauty of Park City this summer. Instructor and local photographer Mark Maziarz will meet with participants at the Kimball Art Center at 5:30 p.m. and then go out on a hike or walk that suits the goals of the class for the evening. This informal workshop will have an open studio feeling where we will discuss questions, challenges, issues and ideas you have about photography. Topics can include landscapes, people, town scenes, sports and more. We’ll also discuss and practice precedents in the history of photography in search of inspiration and various points-of-view. Any type of digital camera (point & shoot or SLR) is required. Advanced beginners and up are welcome. During the field session, students have one-on-one time with the instructor. Students return to the Kimball to review work and discuss next steps. Class includes easy to moderate hikes, so make sure to bring your camera, a charged battery, water, snack and comfortable shoes! No cell phone cameras, please.

Fall Break Art & Clay Camp
Come have fun in the studio with Cameron in this 2 day art camp! Kids will start in the Kimball Clay Studio on Thursday making all sorts of ceramic creations. Then, students will doodle, sketch, paint, layer, glue and have fun as they create unique pieces of art on Friday. Kids will take a break mid-day to eat lunch and relax. After lunch, students return to the studio for creative free time and a PG rated movie. We will provide popcorn for the movie – please notify staff if your child has any allergies! Spaces fill fast – register in advance to reserve your space! Due to drying and firing times, pottery will be ready to pick up 12 – 14 days after the class.
Ceramic Snowman Sculptures
Join Cameron in the Kimball Clay Studio to create snowman sculptures that will last forever. Using small water balloons, students will learn how to mold clay around the balloons (with help from their parents) to create a unique snowman! Students will also paint their creations with white and colored glazes. Due to drying and firing times, pottery will be ready to pick up 12 – 14 days after the class. Parents should accompany their children in this class.
