Learning Color Theory

December 3, 2017 by

The artist must learn to simplify nature’s light, moods and infinite subtleties into no more than 10 values using correct hue in doing so. Learn to choose, control and contrast colors that fit the assigned values and temperatures. By the end of this workshop you should have a better idea about complimentary colors.

Mama’s Mantra: Making Stackable Rings

December 3, 2017 by

Create a set of 3 stacking rings for yourself or for mom embellished with an inspirational word, motivational mantra or a loved one’s name. Each student will figure out their ring size, cut the sterling silver lengths, handstamp their messages and texture the metal. We will then form the rings and solder them closed. You can make a stacker set to be worn together or individually.

Bark City Bling: Custom Pet Tags

December 3, 2017 by

Your one-of-a-kind companion needs a pet tag that is as unique as they are! This class will cover some basics of metalsmithing including setting a stone. Students will personalize their pup’s or kitty’s pendant with name and contact information using metal stamps. No pets? No problem. Make it for yourself and use it as a key tag or pendant.

Wake & Draw VIII

December 3, 2017 by

Unwind from the work week and enjoy your Saturday morning in the studio. This class is back by popular demand! Grab an easel or a drawing horse, bring a pad of paper, your preferred drawing medium and your creativity. A nude and/or draped model will be present to pose. Students will work with the model to communicate positions, quick draw exercises or extended time draws, etc., which will allow students to continue their study of the figure. There is no instructor during this open studio session, so it is suggested that students who register have figure drawing experience. Wake & Draw is meant to be a creative meeting place for artistic people to share their techniques and skills in a community setting. Come by and try it! Space is limited to 10 students, so please register in advance to reserve your space. This class is for adults 18+ only.
