Come learn how to create a special clay cookie plate for the holidays. While plates dry, students will have the opportunity to decorate sugar cookies as a treat to be eaten after class. Two plates per child/adult pair. Please be advised that many food items are used in this class. We do our best to accommodate those students with allergies – make sure to notify us beforehand! Due to drying and firing times, pottery will be ready to pick up 12-14 days after the class session is finished.

Making Pottery Together: Wheel Throwing II
Learn the basics of wheel throwing! Students will learn how to throw on the wheel and will decorate and add glazes to finish their pieces. A wheel throwing demo will be given and then students will work beside their family member to each create one wheel thrown piece. Students will add hand built embellishments and paint so that their piece is ready to fire in the kilns. Due to drying and firing times, pottery will be ready to pick up 12-14 days after the class session is finished. This class is recommended for kids ages 4+. Please note that children under 7 cannot use a wheel independently as they are not strong enough and must share a wheel with an adult!
Family Mugs
Have fun in the Kimball Clay Studio with Cameron has he leads a simple mug workshop that kids and adults can enjoy together. Using clay slab techniques, students will learn how to roll and build their perfect mug. Once students have constructed their mug they can add designs and glaze. Due to drying and firing times, pottery will be ready to pick up 12-14 days after the class session is finished.
Clay Sugar Skull Sculptures
Get in the spirit of Dia de los Muertos and learn how to make traditional Mexican style sugar skulls out of clay with your family. Cameron will show students examples of classic designs to help students carve and add painted detail to their clay mask sculptures. Kids and adults alike will get creative in designing their sugar skull. Bring your imagination, we’ll have the tools to help you create! Due to drying and firing times, pottery will be ready to pick up 12-14 days after the class session is finished.
Clay Leaf Bowls
Learn how to create beautiful handmade leaf shaped bowls with Nancy. Each student will make at least one bowl using leaf imprint techniques, and will choose a glaze for firing. Due to drying and firing times, pottery will be ready to pick up 12-14 days after the class session is finished.
Making Pottery Together: Haunted Houses
Create a haunted house in this class as Cameron leads the students in learning how to turn slabs, pinch pots and coils into a spooky work of art. Add clay details such as ghosts, ghouls, and pumpkins to your haunted house masterpiece! Due to drying and firing times, pottery will be ready to pick up 12-14 days after the class session is finished.
