Stamp in the new year! Explore simple printmaking techniques by creating your own foam stamps to design patterns, symbols, or words that reflect what matters most to you. Whether your card is a note of gratitude, hope, or advocacy, it’s a meaningful way to start the new year through art.

This drop-in is inspired by Gaze Into These Eyes, our current exhibition that invites reflection on justice, empathy, and our shared humanity.

Holiday Art Drop-Ins are open from 10 AM–3 PM. Projects typically take 30 minutes to 1 hour to complete—drop in anytime that works for you! All ages and abilities are welcome. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. No registration required.

Holiday Art Drop-In: Mixed Media Portraits

Get inspired by the portraits in our current exhibition! We’ll start by practicing silly contour line drawings using mirrors, then jump into a fun portrait bingo challenge to spark new ideas. After warming up, you’ll create a one-of-a-kind self-portrait using all sorts of tactile materials such as fabric, felt, yarn, ribbon, and magazine cutouts to build a layered collage. Add images or symbols around your portrait that reflect your goals or hopes for the new year. This activity works for all ages, allowing younger artists to keep it simple while adults can dive deeper.

Get into the holiday spirit with our Clay Holiday Ornaments Workshop! In this hands-on class, you’ll create personalized holiday ornaments using clay ! You’ll learn simple clay techniques to shape, carve, and texture your ornaments, then bring them to life with festive colors and details. Whether you’re making special decorations for your home or crafting heartfelt gifts for loved ones, these handmade ornaments will add a unique and personal touch to the season. Perfect for all ages, this workshop is a fun, creative way to celebrate the winter holidays and make something beautiful to treasure for years to come. 

Once completed, your ornaments will be fired and ready for pick-up within 7-14 days after your class. Please note that shipping for class work is unavailable. Kindly ensure timely retrieval within 60 days to avoid recycling. The price is per project, and we welcome kids under 12 when accompanied by an adult.

In this hands-on class, you’ll create your own unique clay pumpkin, incorporating Kusama’s signature polka dots and vibrant patterns. Using hand-building techniques, you’ll shape and texture your pumpkin, then bring it to life with bold colors and the iconic dot patterns that have made Kusama’s work so famous. No experience needed—just bring your creativity and get ready to immerse yourself in a world of playful design and clay art! Under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Price is per project.
