Plates and Platters on the Wheel Workshop

January 25, 2024 by

Learn how to throw plates and large platters on the wheel with Tom Caswell. Plates serve as a versatile canvas, allowing potters to unleash their creativity through imaginative designs and decorations.  Tricks will be shared to prevent the most common errors such as “S” cracks and warping.

This class is best suited for ceramic artists who are comfortable on the wheel and want to take their skills to the next level.  Plan on returning the following Saturday, during our open studio time, to finish your pieces (trimming or glazing).

Artwork will be fired by our dedicated clay studio staff.

Please note that the firing process takes 7-14 days, and your finished pieces will be available for pick-up only; shipping is not offered for class creations. Remember to collect your masterpiece within 60 days to avoid recycling.
